About Us
Why The Canine Wellness Report Exists
The Canine Wellness Report started with a simple frustration: too many pet owners were spending fortunes on treatments that never fixed anything. Prescription after prescription, vet visit after vet visit, and the dog still scratching at 3am.
We began in 2019 as a small newsletter shared between a handful of veterinarians and researchers who believed pet owners deserved to see the actual published science, not just whatever was being marketed to them that month. Word spread. Today, tens of thousands of dog owners read us every month.
We are, and will always remain, a profit-free organization. We take no money from supplement brands, pet food companies, or pharmaceutical manufacturers. When we recommend something, it's because the research supports it, not because someone paid for the placement.
Every article is reviewed before publication by our advisory board of practicing veterinarians, animal nutrition scientists, and medical doctors. If the evidence isn't there, we say so, even when it's not what readers want to hear.
Our only goal is to help you make better decisions for your pet. That's it. That's the whole business model.

"We started this because pet owners deserve the truth: the whole, peer-reviewed, unglamorous truth. If that ever changes, we'll shut the site down."— Dr. Sarah Mitchell, Founder
